Education

Dr. Brown is originally from Flint, Michigan.  He studied biology at the University of Michigan and received both his undergraduate and master’s degrees there. Dr. Brown attended the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC and received his medical degree in 2005.

Dr. Brown recently completed a general surgical internship and urology residency at Wayne State University and the Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, MI (2005-2010).

Experience

Dr. Brown enjoys the full breadth of adult urologic care, including the care of both male and female patients.

His surgical training emphasized a balance mix of minimally invasive and traditional open surgical techniques.

He has a particular interest in the use of minimally invasive techniques including robotic-assisted surgeries.

Personal

Dr. Brown has recently returned to Alaska, where he and his family will be reestablishing deep roots.

He and his family lived in Kotzebue from 1998-2001, where he taught science courses for University of Alaska Fairbanks Rural College. They have held a deep love for the state ever since.

Dr. Brown is returning to Alaska with his wife and five children. They enjoy all outdoor activities and are anxious to explore everything Alaska has to offer. Dr. Brown spends his free time with his family and enjoys golfing and his children’s athletics.
